Inspired by the design of high-performance sports equipment, the chair is made of 3-D beech veneer reinforced by internal layers of carbon fiber. Essentially, the chair is a wooden chair, which makes it pleasantly comfortable to sit on, to look at and touch. The wood gives Kyudo an easy, domestic feel, setting it apart from most other cantilevered chairs on the market.

The chair prototypes presented at the 2014 Salone del Mobile mark the beginning of a future collection of furniture using this innovative material combination. Kyudo is Japanese for the “way of the bow”. It is also the name for the Japanese martial art of archery.
